Submitting a copyright notice
A notice must identify the copyrighted work, identify the specific post, comment, file, URL, or community content to be removed or disabled with enough information for us to locate it, provide your contact information, and include your physical or electronic signature.
It must state your good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized and that the information is accurate, under penalty of perjury, and that you are authorized to act for the copyright owner. We may request additional information for incomplete notices.
Submitting a counter-notice
If your material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send a written counter-notice. It must identify the removed material and its former location, include contact information and a signature, and state under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was a mistake or misidentification.
The counter-notice must consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate Federal District Court and accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or that person’s agent.
Removal, restoration, and repeat infringers
After a substantially compliant notice, we may promptly remove or disable access to identified material. After a valid counter-notice, we may restore access no fewer than 10 and no more than 14 business days after receipt unless the claimant notifies us of a court action seeking to restrain the activity.
We may restrict or terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. False or misleading notices or counter-notices may create legal liability; this policy does not limit action under our Terms or applicable law.
